The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.

Fredrikstad is a municipality in Østfold county , with 77,481 inhabitants (as of October 1, 2013 ) [ 1]. It is thus county's largest, Eastern Norway 's second largest city and the sixth largest municipality in terms of population . Fredrikstad is often characterized as Norway's first renaissance (see Renaissance ) , with blocks bounded by streets laid out in a regular pattern . Fredrikstad and Glemmen municipality was merged in 1964. 1 January 1994 was the five municipalities Fredrikstad, Borge , Kråkerøy , Onsøy and Rolvsoy merged into the municipality of Fredrikstad. The city of Fredrikstad is located at Glommas outlet . It was here that King Olav in 1016 sailed up along the Glomma until he reached Sarpefossen and founded the town Borg (from 1839 called Sarpsborg) . Fredrikstad municipality's area is 290 square kilometers . It is bordered on the north by Haughty, in the east to Sarpsborg and in the south to the whales . Urban community Fredrikstad and Sarpsborg city community considered together as settlement and double town of Fredrikstad / Sarpsborg , which has 105,545 inhabitants as of 1 January 2012 [2 ] . 61,264 of these live in the part of Fredrikstad municipality that is part of a city.
